Welcome to Sevenhires

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Sevenhires, a job platform connecting job seekers with employers in Uganda. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by all applicable laws of the Republic of Uganda, including the Electronic Transactions Act, 2011, the Computer Misuse Act, 2011, and the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding contracts under Ugandan law to use our services. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Using our services

You must follow any policies made available to you within the services.

Do not misuse our services. For example, do not interfere with our services or try to access them using a method other than the interface and the instructions that we provide. You may use our services only as permitted by law.

Using our services does not give you ownership of any intellectual property rights in our services or the content you access.

Your Sevenhires account

You may need a Sevenhires account to use some of our services. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You are responsible for the activity that happens on or through your account.

To protect your account, keep your password confidential. Try not to reuse your Sevenhires account password on third-party applications.

For job seekers

Creating a profile, browsing jobs, applying to jobs, and using our CV builder are free for job seekers — we never charge you to apply for a job. When using Sevenhires as a job seeker, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile, CV, and applications
• Not misrepresent your qualifications, experience, or identity
• Respect the privacy of employers and other users
• Not use automated tools to submit applications without explicit permission
• Keep your contact information up to date

For employers

Employers may post jobs on a pay-per-post or subscription basis, with fees payable in Uganda Shillings (UGX) via Mobile Money (MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money) or other supported payment methods. When using Sevenhires as an employer, you agree to:

• Post only legitimate job opportunities
• Provide accurate information about job roles, compensation, and requirements
• Not discriminate against applicants based on gender, tribe, religion, disability, HIV status, or any other characteristic protected under Ugandan law
• Respond to applicants in a timely and professional manner
• Comply with all applicable Ugandan labor laws, including the Employment Act, 2006
• Not collect fees from job seekers for employment opportunities

Job posting and subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except where we determine, at our discretion, that a refund is warranted due to a technical failure or non-delivery of the service.

Content in our services

Some of our services allow you to upload, submit, store, send or receive content. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content.

When you upload content to Sevenhires, you give us a license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of operating and improving our services.

Prohibited activities

You may not use Sevenhires to:

• Post fraudulent job listings or scam job seekers
• Harvest or collect user information without consent
• Send spam or unsolicited communications
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Engage in any illegal activities
• Circumvent any security features of the platform

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Sevenhires if you violate these terms, if we reasonably believe termination is necessary to protect Sevenhires, our users, or the public, or if required by law.

Disclaimers

Sevenhires is a platform that connects job seekers with employers. We do not guarantee employment outcomes, the accuracy of job listings, or the conduct of users.

We provide our services "as is" without any express or implied warranties. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Sevenhires shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Disputes should first be raised with us directly for resolution through good-faith negotiation. Where a dispute cannot be resolved this way, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda, or mediation/arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act where the parties agree.

Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our platform before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Sevenhires after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
