Assistant Operations Officer

About this role

The Assistant Operations Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Uganda, supporting the smooth and efficient running of daily operations. This position assists in coordinating inventory and logistics activities, ensuring timely availability and distribution of seeds, agro-inputs, veterinary products, and poultry supplies. The role involves monitoring operational processes, preparing reports, updating records, and supporting compliance with company procedures and safety standards. The Assistant Operations Officer collaborates with internal teams and field staff to address operational issues, improve workflows, and support customer-facing activities. The role also includes assisting in implementation of operational plans, tracking key performance indicators, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

• Role Description

• Qualifications
• Operational support skills, including basic knowledge of logistics, inventory management, fleet management, administration and process coordination.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to work with reports, data, and documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a customer-focused and collaborative approach.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Understanding of or interest in agriculture, agribusiness, or related sectors; experience in an operations role is an advantage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Ability to work on-site in Uganda, demonstrate integrity, and adapt to dynamic operational environments.
• Atleast 1 year experience in operations
