Planning Officer

About this role

To support the planning function of the Authority, including development and implementation of the Authority’s Strategic Plan.Consult.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyse information to provide baseline evidence.
• Support and contribute to the review and development of the Authority’s Strategic Plan; including assisting with the coordination of the mid-term review of the implementation Strategic Plan.
• Ensure monitoring guidelines and standards are met.
• Keep track of the challenges and issues raised through monitoring reports.
• Contribute to the preparation of the Authority’s quarterly reports and the Annual Performance Report for presentation to Management.
• Co-ordinate and contribute to directorate(s) meetings to support determination of how they can achieve the strategic planning outcomes.
• Develop monitoring reports to track the progress across the Authority in achieving the outcomes of the Strategic Plan.
• Provide cross department/directorate advice and support in the development of monitoring plans.
• Support the creation of good monitoring practices in the Authority by planning and conducting spot audits of monitoring practices by departments/directorates and follow up with feedback and suggestions.
• Draft, edit and proof-read letters, briefs, speeches, memoranda and other documents related to the Planning Section’s work

Requirements

• Statistics, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Mathematics from a recognized institution.
• A Postgraduate diploma in M&E is an added advantage.
• At least 2 years’ working experience in a reputable organisation.
